I have XP with an Athlon 1800 processor, 60GB H/D and 512 MB RAM and it runs so slowly that I doubt it is much faster than my old Pentium 100 which came from Noah's Ark! Is this simply a matter of putting the disc in and letting it run itself or must I select certain files/folders to install?

lost files I need to find on win install CD why search will ...
I lost the OS on my system; I was able to reinstall on another partition. The data is still there on the old partition. I want to get to my old files/folders in outlook express. Old versions of Outlook stores the address book in pab-files. When searching for the file make sure you include hidden and system files/folders. I had to reinstall my system using the recovery disks. I thought that I had backed everything up. However, I can't find my Outlook address book or calendar.

can't find my address book or calendar info.
It is located in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\_vti_pvt and this folder may be hidden. So you need to make sure you can see all hidden files\folders. Done in Windows Explorer Did copying my old directory over instead of first publishing it somehow mess things up (I have since publish it but it didn't fix anything).

TMP Files
It happened most often when and Explorer window was open, particularly if browsing a folder with a large number of images. However, I first discovered it when trying to copy some large files from my old machine...the shell would terminate and leave the partly copied file on the new machine.
